Note: We operate in a hybrid model, with two in-office days per week at our North York office. Wednesdays serve as our Anchor Day for the Audit Assurance Group (AAG), creating dedicated time to collaborate, connect, and learn together.
About You
You are driven audit professional with 2-4 years of public accounting experience, pursing your CPA designation. You bring strong IFRS and CAS knowledge and a proven ability to leading audit engagements within fast-paced, client-focused environments. Known for your strong judgement, attention to detail, and calm confidence under pressure, you consistently deliver high-quality work as you navigate complex audit work. You are recognized with your collaborative approach to work – mentoring junior team members, building strong client relationships, and contributing to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional client service and high-quality work by ensuring smooth engagement workflows, proactively anticipating client needs, and escalating significant audit matters.
- Act as the in-charge on audit engagements from planning to delivery across a diverse client portfolio, including financial statements, disclosures, and other key deliverables.
- Collaborate with Engagement Managers and Partners to develop and execute risk-based audit strategies and engagement plans.
- Review workpapers, financial statements, and reports prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Identify and address complex accounting and audit issues, including revenue recognition, financial instruments, and deferred tax provisions.
- Prepare key client deliverables, such as board communications, management letters, and deficiency reports, supported by clear and insightful financial analysis.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior auditors with ongoing coaching, feedback, and hands-on guidance.
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to uphold technical excellence and compliance.
What You Bring
- 2-4 years of recent public accounting experience, with proven ability supporting end-to-end audit engagements and delivering client service across a diverse client portfolio.
- Pursuing Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or near completion, with successful passing of the CFE exam.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS), with experience applying them across complex engagements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience mentoring, coaching, and growing collaborative, high-performing junior auditors.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client expectations with confidence.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, Partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, along with experience using audit technologies and digital tools.
